Two Early Christmas Wishes

First, that Minnesota does not turn into another Florida so that Al Franken can go back to his old Saturday Night Live job and Norm Coleman maintains his victory.

Second, that the Republican-In-Name-Only Saxby Chambliss manages to win the Georgia Senate runoff election tomorrow.

Chances are about dead even on both, but both victories would help dampen the Democratic majority and would help to curb potential excesses of a Democratic majority in a feeding frenzy.

If we cannot get divided government - and I blame the R's here - then denying a filibuster proof majority is the next best thing. Any party, with unchecked power is a danger to the people.

Except when you put someone this dispicable in power just to "support the team...."

Saxby Chambliss is one stomach churning sick person.

I feel sorry for the poor girl. I also feel sorry for those who did not know and supported Saxby and then found out too late to change their mind...

Ah, but kavips it is exactly the opposite. You again make the wrong interpretation. I am not exactly known as a team player, and realize that most R's are holding their noses with a vote for Saxby Chambliss.

No, it is not support for the team. It is to prevent a Democratic majority which could cause all sorts of mischief.

What I fear most is not necessarily the Clinton...um....I mean Obama administration, but the Pelosis and Reids of the world who have no contact with reality.

Thanks for your response.

I find it ironical that I would agree with you on the two party system.. That is true... But some lines I am unwilling to cross and supporting child molestation is one of them...

Trust me, I would agree if it were something different... But this deliberate behavior and the psychological damage it does longterm to a little girl, is just sick... To vote for someone who deliberate thinks its funny, or irrelevent, sends America into the wrong direction... Surely the better person of the two is the Democrat running for that position...

Even if you win the battle, with this as the Republican Code of Ethics, you have instantly lost the war.

Just saying... (out of respect of course)

In postscript I guess it boils down to the line one is willing to cross. Your's appears to be further out there than mine.

Footnote to a footnote... Watch his wife's eyes... she knows what is coming and is watching out to make sure the molestation is not too brutal.

If his wife doesn't trust him, I don't see why anyone else should.

What the heck are you talking about? The family video?

Watch his wife's eyes? She knows? You have been borrowing my tin hat again, haven't you?

Oh, good lord, kavips, you have really succumbed.

I am curious...how many Republicans or Libertarians did you vote for in the last election? I voted for 3 Republicans, 2 Democrats and 1 Libertarian.

You?

And I imagine you think that Al Franken is the best thing since sliced bread.

It wasn't your tin hat, Shirley. While I was hiding out in the closet from my in-laws this week I noticed mine was missing.

Then I read kavips on Saxby Chambliss molesting his child in a campaign video and knew right where to find it.

I don't buy the molesting bit...I admit it looks odd,but as a minimum why didn't someone from the campaign say, "Er, the lighting was bad...why don't we reshoot the scene, and let's put the poodle or something in the Senator's hands."

Ok, tease me all you want. It does not help the girl, and I guess as we all tend to do, misdirects attention from something very uncomfortable to discuss in public...

But it is not just me. By a rough search, six to one agree it is a very uncomfortable situation.. Even on your comment thread, 40% are rather unsettled when they watch it..

(It doesn't speak highly of libertarianism I might add that all 3 condoning it, would be classified in that manner.) There are boundries to self-expression.

But despite all your teasings, we all know that your statements are untrue... They don't make tinfoil hats big enough to fit my head. LOL! :)

I got you there.

...... and I can't stand Al Franken either.
